Diana wore this striped navy and white silk suit by Roland Klein to Ascot in June 1987. In the jacket the bold stripes run vertically, but the same stripes go horizontally in the pleated skirt. The large white straw hat is by Philip Somerville.
The “Naomi” short shift navy wool dress trimmed with French pink and cream tweed at the hem and details on the dress and three-quarter sleeves. It is by Madderson, London.
I find this dress a bit bulky even though it looks a very high quality garment.
1- The Duchess of Cambridge wore it on 16th January 2015 when she was pregnant with Princess Charlotte to visit the Barlby Primary School in Ladbroke Grove, London.
Newborn cream bonnet in alpaca wool with picot edging and under-the-chin tie similar to the bonnet seen on Princess Charlotte.
Midnight blue vintage silk mikado suit with a fitted peplum jacket, wing collar with a hook and eye closure up the front, topstitched darts and a straight skirt. It is by Amanda Wakeley.
It is a very elegant suit with lovely details and a colour that really suits the Duchess.
1- Kate Middleton wore it previous to her wedding on 11th April 2011 to officially open with Prince William the Darwen Aldridge Community Academy in Darwen.
2- The Duchess of Cambridge wore it again on 3rd June 2011 for official portraits taken in the garden of Clarence House prior to the official visit to Canada and California.
