Princess Diana, One Day One Dress: 31st March 1983, Tasmania, Launceston and Mowbray, Australia

Charles and Diana visited Lauceston, Tasmania on 31st March 1983. Later that day they visited the sleepy town of Kempton, Oatlands, Ross and Campbell Town. The final engagement of the trip to Tasmania was a visit to the Australian Maritime College.  Jasper Conran designed the two-piece white suit worn by the Princess. The white suit has a long jacket, the skirt is a simple straight cut and it is worn over a blouse with a high mandarin collar. The ivory-coloured hat with silk flowers attached to one side is by John Boyd.

  1. Always enjoy your blog. Just a few things to note. The hat is by John Boyd. (Not boy) and the jacket has no collar – the blouse has a mandarin collar, the suit has been worn with a frilled collar blouse on another Occassion.
