Duchess Kate: beige “Contrast” coat by Katherine Hooker

The Contrast Coat is a long elegant coat with a seam on the waistline and a flared skirt. It is made of a  soft medium weight herringbone beige wool felt trimmed in brown cotton velvet on the top collar, cuff bands, back belt and pocket flaps. It has a long vent which adds to the flare of the skirt and also small belt on the back waist.

The mid-calf length coat had been shortened to above the knee for the first official engagement of Catherine Middleton after her engagement to Prince William. It is by Wiltshire-based designer Katherine Hooker.

I prefer the shorter version of the coat. I think that this really colour suits the Duchess.

1- Kate Middleton wore the coat on 17th March 2006 at the Cheltenham Gold Cup equestrian event.

2- Kate wore the shortened version of the coat on 24th February 2011 at the RNLI lifeboat naming ceremony in Anglesey.
