Newlyweds, Charles, Prince of Wales and Princess Diana, travelled from Buckingham Palace to Waterloo Station, London where they boarded the royal train as they set off on their honeymoon. Diana’s going away outfit by Bellville Sassoon was ordered with two jackets –one with short sleeves, one with long. She wore the short sleeved version on her wedding day. It is made of canteloupe-melon colour silk with white organza collar and cuffs.  she matched it with a hat by John Boyd with ostrich feathers.

Princess Diana, One Day One Dress: 26th July 1981, Polo, Windsor

Days before her wedding Lady Diana Spencer attended a polo match at Windsor Great Park. A crowd of several thousands had shown up to see the future Princess. she wore a simple, patterned silk suit. The loose-fitting pale pink and white blouse is worn tucked into the skirt and has full elbow-length sleeves.

Princess Diana, One Day One Dress: 25th July 1981, Tidworth

Lady Diana watches Prince Charles play polo at Tidworth during their engagement on July 25th 1981. Later on  she was seen crying while her friend Lord Romsey tries to comfort her.
Diana wears a floral-printed, cotton skirt with matching, quilted waistcoat that was made by Bill Pashley. The toning lilac kid shoes were made by Alexander Gabbay of Ivory.
