During the visit of the wreck of the Mary Rose in Portsmouth the Princess wears a wool flannel coat dress featuring black velvet mandarin collar and cuffs designed by Arabella Pollen.
Amid growing rumours that the Princess has contracted anorexia, she still manages a smile while greeting Queen Beatrix of Holland, at Westminster Pier, London for a state visit in November 1982. Diana wears a pink silk suit. The silk is printed with a flower motif quilted on the tightly belted jacket which had a highly frilled neckline and straight sleeves gathered at the shoulders. It is worn with a felt boater in a matching shade by John Boyd.
