Kate’s jackets and capes

Duchess Kate: lavender blue double wool Ashleigh Coat by Mulberry

Lavender blue double wool Ashleigh full length coat giving a new look at the trench design, featuring a removable shoulder cape, a peaked collar, two front pockets and a waist-cinching belt fastening. By Mulberry.

I personally don’t like this coat at all, I very dislike the removable cape and don’t like the features in general.

1- The Duchess of Cambridge wore it on 28th February 2019 in Ballymena, Country Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Duchess Kate: black long cloth cape by Zara

1- Kate wore this cape on 20th 2017 to attend the pre-Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace, London.

2- The cape was worn again later the same day 20th December 2017 when the Duchess attended privately a performance of the Nutcracker at the Royal Opera House in London.

It seems a fine piece of artwork but I am not too keen on this cape.

1- The Duchess of Cambridge wore it on 14th April 2016 in the capital of Thimphu by King of Bhutan Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and his wife Jetsun Pema.

Duchess Kate: sapphire blue embroidered gown and shawl by Jenny Packham

Sapphire blue floor-length gown hand embroidered with ornate silver beading, featuring a full gathered chiffon skirt  trailing along the floor, a boat neckline and long sleeves. The gown is completed with a sheer shawl in matching blue with sparkling beading. The beading was done by artisans in India. It is a bespoke piece by Jenny Packham.

I like the effect of the skirt of this gown as well as the long beaded sleeves and corsage. I however prefer it without the shawl, as it makes the whole look a bit tacky.

1- The Duchess of Cambridge wore the gown on 10th April 2016 to attend a gala in Mumbai, India.
