On 3rd April 1983 during an official trip in Australia, Prince Charles, accompanied by Princess Diana, travelled to Warwick Farm to play in a polo match, his first for six months. For the Princess, though, there was an ulterior motive. At the match she met Ann Bolton, her flatmate from bachelor-girl days, who was now resident in Australia. The Princess was wearing a pale blue and white stripes dress with a white sailor collar by Catherine Walker.
The future Princess of Wales paid a visit to Cheltenham Police HQ in Gloucestershire, England on March 27, 1981. Later that day Diana poses for her official engagement picture with Her Majesty the Queen and her fiancé. At this occasion, Diana wears a navy wool crepe suit paired with a white top-stiched sailor blouse with red satin bow trim by Bellville Sassoon.
This pretty, shocking pink silk sailor-style dress with a detachable white collar was worn to the wedding of the Princess’s former flatmate, Carolyn Pride, at Chelsea Old Church September 3rd 1982. The drop elasticated waist of this dress by Catherine Walker enabled it to be easily converted to maternity wear.
