Duchess Kate: Long tier violet jacquard dress by Alexander McQueen

Bespoke version of the long tier black mix violet jacquard dress. Kate’s dress doesn’t include the thin straps and boning within the bodice with built in bra construction. It is instead an off-the-shoulder version of the dress. The black silk-blend dress features a floaty full skirt divided in tiers by black ribbons, a black satin waistband  and is beautifully embroidered with green and violet flowers. It has organza layering throughout the skirt. From the Alexander McQueen’s Resort 2016 collection.

I am not a big fan of this dress, I think it lacks lustre and it doesn’t fit the Duchess as it accentuates her lack of feminine hips.

1- The Duchess of Cambridge wore the dress on 12th February 2017 to attend the 70th annual British Academy Film Awards at the London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Duchess Kate: magenta-pink batik dress by Ellena Tavioni Pittman of designhouse Nav

Magenta-pink, white, orange and black cotton strapless tiered dress made with hand dyed batik material with traditional motifs including flowers, fish, vines and other designs. Designed and made at Rarotonga, Cook Islands, by Cook Island designer Ellena Tavioni Pittman of designhouse Nav.

This is a pretty dress with vibrant colours really suiting a tanned Duchess. It is a very casual choice.

1- The Duchess of Cambridge wore it on 16th September 2012 at Honiara, Solomon islands.
