Duchess Kate: blush pink silk dress by Alexander McQueen

Bespoke blush pink, ankle-length silk dress featuring a deep vee-neck and billowing sleeves which are cuffed with three self-covered buttons, pleats at the front and back of the skirt. By Alexander McQueen.

I don’t find the style of this dress very attractive, it is way too fussy. I like the colour and the fabric though.

Princess Diana, One Day One Dress: 29th July 1981, travelling from Buckingham Palace to Waterloo Station, London

Newlyweds, Charles, Prince of Wales and Princess Diana, travelled from Buckingham Palace to Waterloo Station, London where they boarded the royal train as they set off on their honeymoon. Diana’s going away outfit by Bellville Sassoon was ordered with two jackets –one with short sleeves, one with long. She wore the short sleeved version on her wedding day. It is made of canteloupe-melon colour silk with white organza collar and cuffs.  she matched it with a hat by John Boyd with ostrich feathers.

Duchess Kate: ivory satin after-wedding gown by Alexander McQueen

Strapless ivory satin floor-length gown featuring a circle skirt with a jewel-encrusted belt. It was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.


This is a gorgeous dress, simple and sophisticated at the same time with the right touch of glamour given by the jewel-encrusted belt. Kate was a magnificent bride.

1- The new Duchess of Cambridge wore this dress with an angora bolero on 29th April 2011 when leaving Clarence House to go to her evening wedding reception at Buckingham Palace.

Princess Diana, One Day One Dress: 26th July 1981, Polo, Windsor

Days before her wedding Lady Diana Spencer attended a polo match at Windsor Great Park. A crowd of several thousands had shown up to see the future Princess. she wore a simple, patterned silk suit. The loose-fitting pale pink and white blouse is worn tucked into the skirt and has full elbow-length sleeves.

Duchess Kate: “Dulwich” black silk velvet coat by Libélula

The Dulwich Coat is a beautiful vintage inspired evening coat in silk velvet with silk satin lining and a diamante clasp at the center front. The lower part of the coat is slightly flared. It is made by the brand Libélula.
